Missing monthly values: causes and next steps

When will values be collected?

It depends on the type of metering point, whether the value comes from customer portals or another source, and how early the utility provider posts invoiced values.

Electricity: There is a legal requirement that monthly values must be collected by utility providers by the fifth working day of the month. When they appear on customer portals can still vary.

District heating and other energy types: No equivalent legal requirement applies.

As an alternative, you can add collection of hourly values — recommended for metering points where monthly values are not always available by the sixth working day of the month. Read more here .

Why is a monthly value still missing?

  • In most cases, the actual consumption has not yet been published on the customer portals (what is shown is an estimated value).
  • For metering points with hourly values, the monthly value is only calculated once all underlying hourly values have been received. If some hours are missing, we always request a resend from the utility provider.

What does Metry do?

After the collection report is sent, Metry takes the following actions:

  • Robots continue syncing until all monthly values on each account have been collected.
  • If hourly values needed to sum a monthly value are missing, we request a resend from the utility provider.
  • If values are missing on a broader scale for a particular utility provider, we contact them and pass the information on to affected customers.

What actions are expected from the customer?

Metry notifies you in the collection report if robots cannot log in due to incorrect credentials, or if the utility indicates a meter is broken or a facility is no longer active.

  • Update credentials in the customer portal if they have changed.
  • Move metering points to the Trash if collection has permanently stopped.
