Split billing across multiple recipients

By default, Metry sends one invoice per month covering all costs from the previous month. However, it is also possible to add multiple invoice recipients, so that different regions or departments within the company can be billed for their own metering points — even though they share the same Metry account.

The service costs SEK 50 excl. VAT per invoice.

How do I get started?

To get started, contact support@metry.io and provide:

  1. Primary invoice recipient and address
  2. A list of additional invoice recipients and addresses
  3. How you want to distribute the costs (see below)

How can I distribute the costs?

Equal amount on all invoices

The simplest option is to split all costs equally between all invoice recipients you provide. If you provide 4 recipients, for example, each invoice will be 25% of the total cost.

Different amounts based on e.g. region

If you want to split the billing in a different way, for example based on different regions, supplement the list of additional invoice recipients (point 2 above) with optional tags.

This means that if you have four regions (South, North, West and East), where each region should receive an invoice for the metering points in that region, you tag all metering points in Metry with South, North, West and East respectively.

Then supplement the list of invoice recipients in point 2 with which tag should match which recipient. See the table below for an example:

Invoice recipientTag (metering points with this tag are billed)
Southern Region
Example Street 43
444 33 CITYVILLESouth
Northern Region
Pine Road 54
444 33 CITYVILLENorth
Western Region
Elm Lane 8
444 33 CITYVILLEWest
Eastern Region
Oak Street 12
444 33 CITYVILLEEast

How are new metering points distributed?

At billing, Metry will distribute all metering points based on their tags. This means that if you activate new metering points in Metry, you must add tags that match one of the invoice recipients’ tags.

What happens if I tag incorrectly?

If we cannot match a metering point to an invoice recipient’s tag, the cost for that metering point will be assigned to the primary invoice recipient.

NOTE: Tags are matched exactly. This means that “South” does not match “south”.

How are fixed costs distributed?

If you have costs that cannot be attributed to a metering point, such as subscription fees or extra members, the cost is split equally between all recipients.
