I have incorrect or duplicate values in Metry - what do I do?

Incorrect or duplicate values occasionally occur when a utility provider sends wrong data, when a meter is replaced, or when a sync is repeated unexpectedly.

What counts as an incorrect value

  • A value that is significantly higher or lower than expected (e.g. double the normal consumption)
  • A zero value for a period when consumption clearly occurred
  • A value that does not match the utility’s own customer portal or invoice

Step 1: Verify against the source

Before requesting a correction, compare the value in Metry with the value shown on the utility’s customer portal or invoice for the same period. If the utility’s own system also shows the same value, the data from Metry is correct and the issue is with the utility.

Step 2: Request a re-fetch

If the utility’s portal shows the correct value but Metry shows something different, we can re-fetch the data for that period.

Contact support@metry.io with:

  • The metering point ID (EAN or internal ID)
  • The period with incorrect data (from/to dates)
  • The value shown in Metry and the correct value

We will trigger a re-fetch and update the values.

Duplicate values

Duplicate values typically appear after a meter replacement or when the same meter is collected twice from different sources. The duplicate is usually double the real consumption.

Contact support@metry.io with the metering point ID and the period affected. We will identify the source of the duplication and correct the values.

Incorrect interpolated readings

If you have entered a manual reading with the wrong date and Metry has interpolated values based on that error, you can request deletion of the incorrect interpolated values.

Contact support@metry.io with the metering point ID, the incorrect manual reading, and the period to correct.

Zero values

If Metry shows 0 for a period when you know there was consumption, contact support@metry.io with the metering point ID and the affected period.
